Welcome to Foundation Stage! 
 

In our Foundation Stage we have a wonderful team of people. Mrs Clay and Mrs Gibson are the teachers in FSCG and Miss Scott is the teacher in FSRS. We have a wonderful support team too: Mrs Brown, Mrs Ford, Mrs Broadbent and Mrs Sykes.Your children will get used to working with lots of different adults during their time in Foundation Stage.  

Our first topic for this half term is ‘Mr Men and Little Miss’.  During the children’s first weeks of school we will be learning all about ourselves and each other. We will be celebrating our similarities and differences as well as learning that we are all UNIQUE.  We want to children to feel valued and understand that we are all special in our own way – just like the Mr Men and Little Miss Characters. We will take lots of time learning our classroom rules for Foundation Stage as well as our school Golden Rules. We will get to grips with new routines, structures and expectations for school. We will slowly start adding to our timetable each week whilst all the time focusing on developing our independence to be super Sherrier learners.   

Most important of all we will focus on feeling part of a ‘Sherrier Family’. We want the children to make lots of new friends as well as feel happy and safe at school. We can’t wait to begin our Sherrier journey with you all.
